Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Booh, Tarn Taran organised World Rabies Day with the theme “Rabies: Facts, not Fear” based on ending the 
ear from the people and empowering them with the facts under “INDIA@75: Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. A total number of 20 farmers from different villages of the district Tarn Taran attended this programme.
Dr. Balwinder Kumar, Associate Director (Training), KVK, Booh, welcomed the farmers in this programme and discussed that Rabies is a vaccine-preventable viral 
disease which occurs in more than 150 countries and territories. He also talked about the different activities of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tarn Taran for socio economic upliftment of the farming community. Dr. Suresh Kumar, Assistant Professor (Livestock Production) discussed about the causative agent of rabies, its mode of transmission and strategies to prevent the disease. He enlightened the participants that dogs are the main source of human rabies deaths, contributing up to 99% of all rabies transmissions to humans and the incubation period for rabies is typically 2–3 months but may vary from 1 week to 1 year, depende upon factors such as the location of virus entry and viral load. Further, he discussed about the importance and schedule of rabies vaccination in animals. To sum up the above-mentioned training programme; Dr. Balwinder Kumar presented his sincere thanks to all the participants.
