Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana along with Dr. Satyavan Rampal, DSW cum EO and other officers visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Booh, Tarn Taran recently and inspected the ongoing construction work of Regional Research and Training Center on Buffaloes at village Booh, district Tarn Taran. Dr Balwinder Kumar, Associate Director welcomed the Vice-Chancellor and other officers at KVK and provided information about the land of RRTC and ongoing activities of KVK. At the RRTC site, Dr Singh critically examined the ongoing work and provided valuable suggestions for early setting up of this center so that it can cater the need of Nili Ravi farmers of the region. The Vice Chancellor said that KVK Tarn Taran and upcoming RRTC will be boon for the Majha farmers and certainly will help the border farmers for uplifting their economic status substantially. At KVK, Dr. Singh also interacted with the buffalo farmers and suggested them to rear these animals as per scientific guidelines set up by the university. Further, the Vice Chancellor also emphasized to keep record keeping as per scientific guidelines so that any productive and reproductive problems can be easily identified at an early stage and accordingly suitable measures can be adopted. Later, the Vice Chancellor along with KVK Team visited progressive dairy farmer Mr. Daljit Singh Gill at Village Mari Kamboke. The VC appreciated the efforts of the this dairy farmer knowing that with only 2.5 acre of land he is running his dairy business very successfully and earning equal to the 10 acre land farmer. In the end Dr. Balwinder Kumar thanked the Vice Chancellor for his visit to university outstation at KVK and RRTC.
