Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) conducted six one day trainings in various villages of Mohali district to sensitize farmers for adoption of Kitchen gardening of vegetables for self reliance and to get safer food at their households. Dr. Munish Sharma, Assistant Professor (Horticulture) and Principal Investigator of the NABARD sponsored project delivered lectures, practical demonstrations and distributed seed kits to the participants. Dr Sharma emphasized on the importance of vegetables in human health and income enhancement especially during pandemic situations such as Covid 19. He appealed farmers to adopt crop diversification. These events were carried out in Sahauran, Lubangarh, Kansala, Dusarna, Khizrabad and Nanglian villages of district Mohali. More than 100 farmers including women farmers participated in these trainings and got benefitted in terms of knowledge and skill.
