Five days vocational training programme on ‘Integrated Fish cum Poultry farming’ was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Booh, Tarn Taran by maintaining social distancing. Thirteen farmers (10 male and 3 female) of different villages of district Tarn Taran and Amritsar participated in the training programme. Scientific knowledge on various aspects of fish cum poultry farming was covered in this training for poultry and fish farmers.

In the inaugural session Dr. Balwinder Kumar, Deputy Director (Training) stressed upon various facilities developed by GADVASU and KVK. He also guided the poultry and fish farmers for low cost feed management by using moringa leaf powder and azolla as a feed ingredient. Further field visit was also arranged to demonstrate production techniques of azolla and moringa. Dr. Bhanu Prakash. Ch, Assistant Professor (Fisheries) explained about importance of integrated farming systems, fish farming and livestock farming systems. Further he highlighted on zero feeding technology of fish farming by integrating with different livestock farming systems. Experts from department of LPM, GADVASU, Ludhiana and KVK, Mohali participated and delivered lectures as assigned and some of the lectures conducted by online virtual mode. Dr. Piverjeet Kaur Dhillon, Assistant Professor (Home Science) enlightened the trainees about role of processing of poultry and fish produce by stating standard processing methods. Dr. BhanuPrakash proposed vote of thanks. Farmers expressed their happiness for conducting such informative training programme during corona pandemic time.
