Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mohali organized One week vocational training on “Scientific Pig Farming” from 4.09.2020 to 10.09.2020 at its campus located in the Model Town, Kurali. Seven farmers took part in this training programme. Dr. Yashwant Singh, Deputy Director and Dr. Shashi Pal, Course Coordinator, conducted this training programme. Dr Yashwant Singh motivated farmers for pig farming and asked them to integrate pig farming with aquaculture for proper utilization of resources and maximizing the profit from per unit area. He also briefed trainees regarding various facilities provided by KVK and GADVASU, Ludhiana for the farmers. He delivered his lecture on comfortable housing management of different categories of pig and show video film on pig farming system. Dr. Shashi Pal, Assistant Professor, Livestock Production (Training Coordinator) gave detailed lecture and practical exposure on various breeds of pig, feeding management of different category of pig, diseases of pig, recordkeeping and economics of pig farm. Among trainees, one progressive farmer shared his vast experience to other trainees. All participants thanked KVK faculty for conducting such an excellent training programme.
