Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) organized a Fertilizer Application Awareness Programme and village level Awareness Camp on Crop Residue Management under the guidance of Deputy Director (Training), Dr. Yashwant Singh at Krishi Vigyan Kendra campus, Kurali on 22.10.2019. Farmers were shown live telecast of the Launching of Fertilizer 
Application Awareness Programme on DD Kisan. On this occasion, Dr. Priyanka Suryavanshi, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) appealed farmers not to burn the paddy straw and suggested mixing it in the field so that the fertility of the land could be increased. She provided information on latest machinery and its working for management of Crop Residue. She delivered lecture on balance use of chemical fertilizers, different organic and bio-fertilizers and integration of chemical and organic fertilizer for maintenance of soil health. She also encouraged the farmers for soil testing and application of recommended dose of fertilizer at recommended time. Farmers also shared good experience about neem coated urea and soil health card programme of Government. Dr. Shashipal, Assistant Professor (LPM) delivered lecture on use of paddy straw in livestock. About 45 farmers have participated in this awareness programme.
