Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, 
Tarn Taran organized one day Farmer Scientist interaction on ‘Integrated Fish cum Pig farming’ to develop Knowledge and awareness among farmers of the district. Around 100 farmers from different villages participated in this programme on 03.07.2019 at village Chapri Sahib. Dr. H.K. Verma, Director of Extension Education, GADVASU, Ludhiana, was the Chief Guest of the function. Dr HK Verma along with Dr. Balwinder Kumar, Deputy Director Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tarn Taran inaugurated the newly constructed integrated unit of Fish cum Pig farming. Farmer Gurchetan Deep Singh has constructed 1.0 acre fish pond and pig shed with the capacity of 200 pigs under the guidance of scientist from KVK, Tarn Tran. For the better learning skill of Fish cum Pig farming a Farmer Field School was also established 
for farmers of the district where they can get exposed practically for hands on training. In the inaugural session Dr. H.K. Verma suggested farmers to develop livestock enterprises like dairy, piggery, poultry and fishery to double the farm income. Further he also advocated to develop integrated farming units for getting maximum benefit of different enterprises from each other. Dr. Balwinder Kumar told the farmers about KVK activities and discussed advantages of integrated fish cum pig farming system. He appealed to the farmers to visit regularly at KVK for getting latest knowledge about different farming systems. Dr. Bhanu Prakash. Ch, highlighted about government subsidies
to develop blue revolution in state as fisheries is a one of the strong enterprise to double the farm income. Farmer Gurchetan Deep Singh expressed his gratitude for regular visiting of KVK scientists at his farm and for proper guidance provided to him for establishing his farm. He thanked Dr. HK Verma, Director Extension Education, GADVASU, Ludhiana and KVK, Booh Tarn Taran officials for inaugurating his integrated unit farm and for establishing Farmer Field School. Dr Bhanu proposed vote of thanks at the end of the programme.
