Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) organized 5 days vocational training on “Value Addition to Farm Produce and Entrepreneurship Development” at village Kansala under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana scheme. Twenty six farm women were participated in this training. Dr. Parul Gupta, Assistant Professor (Home Science) and Coordinator of this training encouraged farm women regarding value addition and entrepreneurship development. Dr. Yashwant Singh, Deputy Director, KVK, Mohali inaugurated the five days training programme and gave a detailed lecture on ‘Value addition to crops and dairy products’. Dr. Parul Gupta demonstrated the recipes of mix fruit jam, mixed vegetable pickle, carrot chutney, apple chutney, barfi and shrikhand. Dr. Randhir Singh, Assistant Professor, delivered lecture on ‘Dairy farming and entrepreneurship development’. Dr. Munish Sharma, Assistant Professor (Horticulture) discussed regarding ‘Post harvest management of flowers, fruits and vegetables’. Dr. Priyanka, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) delivered lecture on ‘Scientific cultivation of baby corn and sweet corn and entrepreneurship development’. Dr. Vikas Phulia, Assistant Professor (Fisheries) discussed regarding ‘Fish farming and ornamental fishery’. During the concluding ceremony, feedback from participants was taken and certificates and different publications books were distributed among them. Farm women thanked the KVK faculty and asked them to organize more such programmes for their skill development.
