Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) organized a mass free Swine Fever vaccination camp for pig farmers of 
the district. Dr. Yashwant Singh, Deputy Director, stressed on routine vaccination of pigs and also provided basic information on piggery production an
d management. Dr. Randhir Singh, Assistant Professor, Livestock Production vaccinated 500 pigs covering 15 different commercial pig farms, located at different parts of the district. He advised farmers to vaccinate their pigs every 6 months. Dr. Vikas Phullia, Assistant Professor, fisheres also accompanied the team during Vaccination camp and explored oppertunities for integrated fish farming with pig farming. It is also noteworthy that the KVK holds a regular Scientist-Farmers interaction programme specially for pig farmers of the district S.A.S. Nagar, where different problems faced by the farmers are disscussed and as per the farmers this was the first ever free vaccination camp for pigs in the district.
