The department of Veterinary Anatomy deals with the teaching and research on comparative, gross and microscopic structures of body parts organs and tissues of different species of animals and birds and offers a 7 (4+3) credit hour course to the B.V.Sc. & A.H. students during the first professional year of the degree programme as per MSVE-2016 regulations. This department provides high standard of teaching and student's knowledge regularly updated with latest scientific interventions by the young and dynamic teaching faculty. various laboratory like
Osteology – it consists the skeletons of Ox, Buffalo, Horse, Dog and Fowl.
Dissection hall – as per the lecture schedule the dissection of different regions are carried out and have the facility like 2 big cemented tanks to preserve the big specimens of large animals. Also buckets and drums with lids to preserve the organs of small domestic species.
Histology laboratory – Routine stain (Haematoxylin and Eosin) is performed. And facility to demonstration general and systemic histology with abundant microscopes are available.
Histotechnique laboratory: All the instruments required for sectioning are available.
Plastination laboratory: have the facility to preserve various organs of domestic species by the plastination technique.
Museum: Coloured organ skeleton, skeleton with demonstration of arteries and veins are present. Wet specimens preserved by formaline method is available. Also 3 D models are also used as the innovative teaching technology.
As per lecture schedule the theory and practical classes are carried out.
While extra activities like procuring of specimens, making the skeleton of snake, goat and dog are in progress.
