Project
entitled “Economics of Milk production and its regular monitoring in Punjab”
project was started in the year 2009 and probably 1st
such attempt by any institute to study the cost of milk production in organised
way. No
such scheme on comprehensive scale in Dairy sector till 2009 was there at any
state or national level.
Identification
of dairy production system in the state (1st time)
Generation of
baseline data of dairy sector and calculation of Cost of Milk Production
Revision of
standards for Cow milk - Milk Fat & SNF on the basis of data and it
benefited millions of farmers especially of north India. Based on the results of the
survey, the Punjab Govt. pursued FSSAI to revise the standards These
standards were revised which was a major
