Two vaccine constructs encoding canine Mammaglobin + Murine IL2 and Canine Mucin-1 + murine IL2 in pVAX-1 have been generated. The construct with canine mucin-1 + mice IL-2 showed mammary tumor regression in mice with enhanced CMI response.
Sandwich ELISA based on canine recombinant Hsp90B1, Mammaglobin, and MMP3 has been developed for the serodiagnosis of canine mammary tumors.
Recombinant HSP40 (DnaJ) and HSP70 (DnaK) of Brucella spp have been evaluated for their efficacy as immune modulators against Brucella-specific protein in mice. The proteins were found to stimulate CMI response to a greater extent.
A dedicated lab for the diagnosis of leptospirosis has been established under the DBT-CRCN project. More than 1000 serum samples have been tested using MAT to study the seroepidemiology of leptospirosis. Similarly about 230 samples have been tested with PCR. About 10 % seropositivity was observed in MAT and 2% positive samples were found in PCR.
The hsp15 gene of Leptospira interrogans was cloned and characterized. Also the Serum amyloid A gene from quails was cloned and sequenced for the first time and its expression against bacterial infections was studied.
A stable mammalian cell line expressing Japanese Encephalitis Virus Like Particles (JE-VLP) has been developed.
Sub-viral Particles (SVP) of the Japanese Encephalitis virus and Infectious Bursal Disease virus have been produced using a baculovirus expression system.
Development of Canine distemper virus rescue system
Development of sero-diagnostics for Canine distemper virus and African swine fever virus
Development of nucleic acid-based diagnostics for Canine distemper virus, African swine fever virus, Porcine parvovirus, Porcine circovirus etc.
