The Department is actively engaged in extension activities. The department has conducted various extension programmes on brucellosis, rabies, antimicrobial resistance, food safety and zoonoses for dissemination of knowledge among the stake holders. School students have been specifically targeted in relation to Rabies. Further, the department extends the facilities for diagnosis of zoonotic diseases such as brucellosis to the farmers and veterinary hospitals. The department has published various pamphlets in Punjabi for the awareness on zoonotic diseases among the farmers.
Department in collaboration with Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology has conducted a training programme on ‘Diagnosis of Poisoning cases and Infectious Diseases in Animals’ for Veterinary Officers, Department of Animal Husbandry, Punjab from 10-12 November, 2022.
