Faculties of the department participate in both collaborative and independent research endeavours. All the faculty members have been awarded doctoral degrees in Veterinary Pathology and have interest and experience in a wide range of animals including companion animals, birds, livestock and wildlife. These research efforts are supported by a wide array of sophisticated facilities located within the department and throughout the college.
The Department provides comprehensive diagnostic services including general post mortem examinations, biopsy evaluation, cytology evaluation and diagnostic histopathological services. Staffs also perform field necropsies by going to the national parks, zoo, livestock farms on request.
Fresh and fixed tissue samples from necropsies performed by field/ zoo veterinarians accompanied by a request letter with all details including contact information, species of the patient, age, tissue particulars as well as a complete and relevant medical history will be evaluated for histopathological diagnosis
Department also offers comprehensive diagnostic services like blood smear examination, cytology, histopathology, and biopsy evaluation.
