He was earlier University Librarian, GADVASU and Professor-cum-Head, Department of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology. Dr. Sharma has done his B.V.Sc.& A.H., M.V.Sc. and Ph D from PAU Ludhiana. He has 28 years of experience in teaching, research and extension. He has several national and international publications to his credit. He has been PI/Co-PI of various research projects funded by CSIR, UGC, CCRAS, RKVY and Punjab Govt. Presently he is General Secretary of the Indian Society of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology. Dr. Sharma is recipient of the University Best Teacher Award, Young Scientist award, Merit Certificate holder in M.V.Sc, CSIR-SRF and several awards at the conferences. He was instrumental for establishment of ‘Collaborative Research Centre for Veterinary Ayurveda’ at GADVASU, first and only of its kind in India, a setup of Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
