Standardization and regular use of advanced clinical procedures such as Echocardiography, Endoscopy, Ultrasonography, Ophthalmoscopy and Otoscopy for diagnosis and treatment of various ailments in small companion and pediatric large animals.

Studied changing drug sensitivity and resistance patterns in mastitis pathogens. Molecular epidemiology of pathogens associated with pathogens with emphasis on persistent or recurrent infections.

Evaluation of herbs like W. somnifera root and O. sanctum leaf demonstrated good immunomodulatory and therapeutic efficacy in treating specific subclinical mastitis in dairy cows.

Use of post-milking teat dipping in prevention of mastitis and treatment of various udder and teat lesions and role of Dry therapy in prevention of mastitis and improvement of milk quality

Mineral profiling in the state of Punjab and use of Area Specific Mineral Mixture. A study on the commonly reported livestock health problems and their probable causes in the semi-arid Mansa and Ferozepur districts revealed high levels of fluoride, arsenic and pH in drinking water as the major culprits.

Random study revealed a large population of animals in Mansa (95.3% buffaloes, 100.0% cattle) and Ferozepur (92.0% buffaloes, 95.7% cattle) were affected by subclinical fluorosis. Livestock Drinking Water Defluoridation can be achieved by adding alum (1.1-1.5 gm per liter) and lime (150-200 mg per liter), that cost only Rs. 7 per 100 liter of water.

Area specific mineral mixture after feeding the animals of Central Zone of Punjab for 6 months showed significant improvement in plasma levels of Ca, Cu, Mn, Hb and PCV in buffaloes and Ca and Pi in cattle.

Plasma BHBA >1.2 mMol/L and NEFA > 0.4 mMol/L were found the good indicators of higher risk of ketosis in dairy animals. Ketotic cases could be best treated with propylene glycol @ 200 ml/day orally for 5 days

Feeding of high grain diet was found to be associated with increase in severity of lameness lesions in dairy cattle. Supplementation of zinc sulphate along with sodium bicarbonate and magnesium oxide buffer helps in controlling foot lesions in animals on high grain diet. Sole ulcers in dairy cattle can be effectively managed by topical dressing of copper sulphate and zinc sulphate in 1:1 ratio every 5th day. Supplementation of 3 gm zinc methionine and 20 mg biotin should be done on farms with high disease prevalence.

Prophylactic magnet feeding is an effective alternative to rumenotomy in traumatic reticuloperitonitis cases. Ferroscopy, as an alternative to radiography, was standardized for detecting foreign bodies.
