The department of Veterinary Parasitology came into existence in 1975 with Dr. S.C. Dutt a renowned Parasitologist as the founder Head of the Department. Since inception, the department has been actively involved in imparting quality teaching, research and extension activities in the field of Veterinary Parasitology.
The department is actively involved in the activity pertaining to training to veterinary officers, workshops and personnel from polyclinics for training in diagnosis of parasitic diseases of domestic animals.
