Teaching and Other Appointments

• Actively involved in teaching of Veterinary Parasitology course for veterinary and diploma undergraduate students. Research interest involves molecular parasitology, parasite phylogenetics and diagnostics for parasitic diseases with special interest on haemoprotozoan diseases. Have handled 11 national and 1 international projects from funding agencies like RKVY, NIF-DST, etc in various capacities.

• Held previous administrative portfolios like Assistant Director Research (ADR), Hostel Warden, University Transport Officer (TO), Member University Management Committee (UMC), coordinator of various activities under IDP-NAHEP and scientist Covid-19 testing laboratory, Mathura.
• Editorial board member of BMC Veterinary Research; Frontiers in Veterinary Science,  Plos One, Veterinary Parasitology: Parasites and wild life and AS Veterinary Science Journal.
• Life member of Indian Science Congress (ISP);Indian Association for Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (IAAVP); Indian Society for Parasitology (ISP); National Academy of Biological Sciences (NABS) and Punjab State Veterinary Council.

Area of Research Interests

• Host-parasite interactions with special emphasis on theileriosis.
• Epidemiological mapping of parasitic infection in and around Punjab using molecular, serological and conventional methods.
• Molecular phylogenetics of parasites.
• Resistance in parasites against antiparasitic drugs.
