Brief Introduction

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Uppal, Dean Postgraduate Studies took the additional charge of the Dean College of Dairy and Food Science Technology at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana.  Dr. Uppal received his B.V.Sc. & A.H.  and M.V.Sc. in Veterinary Medicine from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana and  joined as Assistant Animal Health Specialist in 1991. He obtained his Ph.D. in Veterinary Medicine from Punjab Agricultural University under Sandwitch Programme of German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Fellowship. Dr. Uppal has several awards and honours to his credit viz. National Academy of Veterinary Sciences (NAVS) of India, Commonwealth Postdoctoral Fellowship at University of Liverpool (UK), DC Blood Gold Medal by Indian Society for Veterinary Medicine and ICAR fellowships at graduate and post-graduation level. He undertook Advanced Clinical Training from Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He has more than 110 international and national research and clinical publications to his credit. He is widely travelled person and attended various national and international conferences/symposia/conferences/ workshops/ trainings/refresher courses and delivered invited lectures. He has guided 12 M.V.Sc. and 2 Ph.D. students. He has been instrumental in brining and handling several research & infrastructural projects as Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator. He has been the leading force behind the Canine Research Centre awarded to the University by the Department of Biotechnology (GOI).
