While remembering Dr. B. R. Ambedkar & Martyrs of freedom struggle Dr. Amarjit Singh Nanda, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University extended his congratulations on 69th Republic day of country. Dr. Nanda unfurled the National Flag and highlighted the importance and spirit of the Indian Constitution for the development and prosperity of people. R&V Sqn. NCC cadets of GADVASU presented the guard of Honour. Dr. Satyavan Rampal, DSW also escorted Dr. Nanda.
Dr. Nanda shared the details of different programmes of the university. He said that livestock is contributing in a very rich manner for Agriculture GDP. While revealing the importance of Animal Sector he said that India is the highest producer of milk in the world. He said that we should address the environment related issues in connection with the animals also, It is concerned with each human, animal and nature. A Veterinarian may play an important role on this aspect. He said that our students should world ready to address the problems of animal husbandry. He also shared the important role of farmers, students, non-teaching staff and scientist in development of GADVASU. He revealed that GADVASU has achieved an international fame after its emancipation and it is number one veterinary university of the India. He told that university is working on more than 100 research projects. Dr. Nanda said that Department of Biotechnology, GOI sanctioned a Centre of Excellence for Canine in this university. In the country there will be only two centres in GADVASU and Tamil Nadu. He also informed that we have three Centres of Advanced Faculty Training and it is honour for this university only. He informed that we are developing extension services in such a manner that this will enrich services to the livestock farmers of the state in a holistic manner. Different employees were honored for their distinguished services in the university. Students were also honored for their achievements in different extra mural and sports activities.
Students and staff members filled colours, emotions and rhythm with their performances in the function. Officers, Teachers, Employees and students of the University attended the function enthusiastically.
