PUM Netherlands Sector Coordinator for Small Ruminants Mr. Gerrit, Senior Expert Mr. Merks along with PUM Representative-India Mr. K.R. Jain visited Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana. They interacted with the officers, faculty and students. Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Director of Extension Education welcomed the experts.
While chairing the meeting Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor emphasized the need to work on a cluster-based approach for inviting experts and solving farming related problems. He stated that GADVASU and PUM Netherlands can enter into long-term collaboration.
Mr. K. R. Jain in his address provided insights on PUM Netherlands. A detailed presentation on working and thrust areas of PUM Netherlands was delivered by Mr. Gerrit. He highlighted that PUM is 
working in 34 countries across the globe with 150 representatives and India is one among the priority countries of PUM. He further stated that cooperatives and community-based products can aid in better marketing and reaching out to the potential customers.
Mr. Merks stated that PUM is also engaged in student and faculty exchange programmes and welcomed 
interested stakeholders for knowledge exchange. He stated that Krishi Vigiyan Kendra network of the University is efficiently working at grassroots to solve farming-based problems. He emphasized on the probable collaboration of PUM with GADVASU Ludhiana for knowledge sharing.
A comprehensive discussion on various problems related to dairy farming and goat farming viz. mastitis, summer stress, reproductive failures, weaning strategies, feed and fodder, etc. were discussed in detail.
