Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana organized 'GADVASU Alumni Meet-2022'. More than 500 participants from diverse backgrounds viz. Veterinary, Fisheries, Dairy Sc. and Bio-technology etc. joined this event. Dr. R.P. Saigal, Sr. Alumni and Former Dean, College of Veterinary Science was the Chief Guest of this occasion. He motivated august gathering to 
participate in such types of events. Dr. Subhash Chander, Director, department of Animal Husbandry, Punjab was Guest of Honour. Alumni meet commenced by taking the blessings of Almighty by reciting "Shabad". The meet was organized under the patronage of Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor. Dr. Satyavan Rampal, DSW, Dr. J.P.S. Gill, Director Research, Dr. H.S. Banga, Registrar, Deans of the respective colleges and
officers of the university also decorated the occasion. Dr. S.P.S. Ghuman, Dean, College of Veterinary Science and Principal
Investigator, IDP welcomed the participants and mentioned that the alumni meet is an opportunity to come back to the alma mater, and cherish the memories with the friends, teachers and colleagues. Dr. Inderjeet Singh, VC addressed the alumni and encouraged them to do their best in their respective areas of expertise in order to uplift the profession as well as society. He also praised the role played by the professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also emphasized the importance of these meets. The house of the alumni decided to organize the next Alumni Meet on 3rd Saturday of November, 2023 so that alumni from across the globe could plan in advance and join the event. Dr. Subhash Chander, mentioned that such events not only help alumni to meet their friends and colleagues but also to share their
professional experiences. He also thanked the University authorities for organizing this event.
Technical sessions were conducted in the respective colleges of the University, where experts from the relevant fields shared their knowledge and experiences, as well as exchanged their ideas. A tribute was given to the alumni who had left for their heavenly abode in the recent past. A short film on the inception and activities of GADVASU was displayed. On this occasion, three volumes of Vet Alumnus, GADVASU, Telephone Directory, and Livestock Statistics Handbook were released. ‘Diabet Egg' developed by an alumnus Dr. M.L. Kansal was also launched on this occasion. Dr. Kansal mentioned that Diabet egg is a good option for the diabetic people. Testimonials from the NRI alumni, Dr. Baljit Singh, Canada; Dr.
Jaswant Singh, Canada; Dr. Harpreet Singh Kochhar, Canada; Dr. Mahavir Singh, USA, Dr. Amninder Singh Sekhon, USA, Dr. Harsimranjit Kaur, Australia were also displayed. An interactive and entertaining fun game session was also organized. Alumni actively participated and enjoyed the games.
Afternoon session was filled with different types of colors. It was started with Alumni participation and experience sharing. Dr. Lakhwinder Singh, Veterinary Officer recited a soulful 'Shabad'. Several activities including Poems, Songs, Mono acting etc. were performed by Dr. Rana Preet Gill, Sh. Prabhdial Singh, Dr. A.P.S. Brar, Dr. Veer Sukhwant, Sh. Kulveer Singh Sidhu, Dr. Jasbir Mehram and Ms. Shikha. A group dance Bhangra was performed by GADVASU Faculty. Alumni were enthralled with the cultural programme by the GADVASU students. Cultural programme, included Prayer dance, Medley of Punjabi Folk Songs, Poem and Punjabi tappe. Gidha and Bhangra were performed by the girls and boys students of College of Veterinary Science. Dr. Harpreet Singh, the organizing secretary of the event, thanked the alumni for their active participation in the meet. Participants wished to join such events in future.
