A four day workshop on “Self-Management and Importance of Life Skills for Personality Development of Students” was organized at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University by Department of Veterinary Physiology & Biochemistry. Dr. Kiran Walia, Psychologist acquainted the B.V.Sc. 2nd professional students with the meaning of Life skills and their significance in life. Thus the aim of the workshop was to impart life skill training to the students to enhance their skills and personality and bring about a positive change in their behaviour and attitude. The sessions focussed on bringing awareness of social realities and challenges in the current academic system, apart from building the students’ capacity to face problems and challenges related to academic endeavours, study skills and personality development. Dr. Kiran Walia talked about enriching values of the core life skills ranging from self-awareness, self-management, thinking skills, empathy, interpersonal relationships to effective communication among the participants and developing leadership qualities.
