S. Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Cabinet Minister interacts with students at Vet Varsity Also launched the Plantation Drive

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana organized an interaction session of S. Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Cabinet Minister, Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development, Food Processing, Punjab and a large number of students of vet varsity. This interaction came out of the mutual thinking of S. Gurmeet Singh Khuddian and Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor and the students participated enthusiastically in this event. Dr. Inderjeet Singh revealed the objective of this event and said that the minister has specially visited to understand the real issues of the students.
In this interaction, students asked questions about their current needs and future aspirations. Various students raised questions regarding employment opportunities, fees, stipends & scholarships, problems during field work, improving veterinary dispensaries and providing better facilities for animal husbandry and livestock farmers.
S. Khuddian answered them very politely and very humbly assured that they would consider their issues and needs on priority basis. He expressed happiness that a very meaningful discussion session has been organized under the leadership of Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor.
S. Gurmeet Singh Khuddian also launched the Plantation Drive near the Scientist Home of varsity. The minister marked the beginning of drive by planting the saplings of traditional trees at the Mini Jungle in the university campus. S. Khuddian appreciated the drive and apprised the august gathering regarding the importance of planting traditional trees. Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor informed that more than 1000 saplings of various plant categories will be planted under the upcoming phases of the drive with the ultimate aim to increase the green cover area of the university. He highlighted that the contribution of trees towards the environment and mankind is countless as they support the whole biodiversity.
Both the events were organized under the supervision of Dr. Satyavan Rampal, Director Students' Welfare cum Estate Officer as a part of India's G-20 programmes and also as continuation of celebrations of India’s 75th Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav
