Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana flagged off five B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Batch 2020) students from College of Veterinary Science alongwith their training coordinator, Dr. Anuradha Gupta, Professor, for an international training programme of 2-week duration on “Sustainable Management of Animal Diseases in Subtropical Scenario” at Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The training is sponsored by World Bank and NAHEP, ICAR funded Institutional Development Plan (IDP) operational at GADVASU.
The prime objective of this training programme is to offer students a platform to experience professional excellence internationally alongside the mandate of university i.e. globalization of education and research. This interaction would empower students to attain academic improvement and enhancement of their professional skill for better tomorrow. Dr. Eduardo Bastianetto, Professor of Preventive Veterinary Medicine, Minas Gerais State University, Brazil visited GADVASU in February, 2022 and extended his co-operation towards scaling up academic linkages through exchange programme. He is hosting the contingent from GADVASU to provide practical demonstration on various advanced diagnostic laboratory techniques for rapid and precise diagnosis of livestock diseases.
Dr. S.P.S. Ghuman, Dean, College of Veterinary Science and Principal Investigator IDP-NAHEP, GADVASU congratulated the team during their departure and exhorted them to utilize this learning opportunity to maximum level for honing their professional competencies. He expressed his gratitude to the funding agency for this innovative program especially focusing undergraduate students.
Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor, GADVASU, conveyed best wishes to the academic contingent and motivated them to toil hard to acquire the best possible skills that can help them professionally to grow to cater the expecting demand of the society and nation as whole. He added that the International academic and research linkages developed under IDP-NAHEP of ICAR will essentially put a light to learn and earn productive international collaborative projects, benefitting the livestock sector.
