The 11th inter college youth festival of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana entered in the second phase on the fifth day with stage events.
Dr. O.P. Chaudhary, IFS, Joint Secretary, National Livestock Mission and Chairman, Animal Welfare Board of India formally inaugurated the youth festival as chief guest. Dr. Chaudhary said that GADVASU is doing remarkable work in the field of veterinary and animal sciences. Creative and artistic performances of students are also wonderful. They are students of science but have a thoughtful sense of art and culture. Dr. S.S. Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU the guest of honor motivated the students and said that it is a high time that students are performing after a gap of three years of corona. Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor, presided over the function. He said that the youth festival is a unique platform for students to show their hidden talents. The courses of professional degrees are very tough and students find very little time for extracurricular activities. Dr. Tek Chand, DIG, ITBP also graced the occasion. The day was dedicated to Folk Songs, Creative Dance, Light Vocal & Group Songs (Indian). The venue of these events was the open air theater PAU. Deans, Directors of GADVASU and faculty members, students and staff of GADVASU and PAU attended the youth festival with great zeal.
Dr. Satyavan Rampal, DSW said that in today’s event all the four colleges at campus along with College of Veterinary Science, Rampura Phul, Vety. Polytechnic Kaljharani and Khalsa College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Amritsar participated. He said that students are full of talent and we should give them more opportunities to perform at higher stages. The various committees constituted for the organization of the youth festival worked very hard for its success.
Dr. A.P.S Brar organizing Secretary said that Mime, Skit, One act play and Mimicry would be performed tomorrow beginning 9 am in the morning. The venue will remain the same, open air theatre PAU.
