Dr Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana paid a maiden visit to Veterinary Polytechnic and Regional Research and Training Centre, Kaljharani along with Dr.J.P.S. Gill, Director Research, Dr.R.S. Grewal Director Livestock Farms and Dr. Simerjeet Kaur, Head of the Department, Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding, GADVASU. The Vice Chancellor was welcomed by Dr. Sittal Dev Jindal, Principal-cum- Joint director, Kaljharani. Dr. Jindal briefed about the various activities and achievements of V.P. & R.R.T.C, Kaljharani. Vice chancellor visited the Sahiwal cattle farm which is run by AICRP under ICAR, New Delhi and highlighted the importance of latest techniques developed by the university for upliftment of indigenous cattle through advanced procedures like Embryo Transfer Technology. Dr Inderjeet Singh advised to install Feed Mixer Plant at the farm and also stressed upon increasing the cultivable land in order to meet the increasing demand of green fodder for the herd. Dr. Gill encouraged the initiation of a mini milk processing unit at farm for value addition of Sahiwal cow Milk. Drs. Ajaybir Singh Dhaliwal, Mandeep Singh, Mohinderpal Singh and Sumanpreet Kaur, Veterinary Officers,V.P. & R.R.T.C, Kaljharani were also present on this occasion.
