12 November 2017 - Students express power of words in Veterinary Varsity Youth festival

 8th Youth festival of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University progressed to 4th day with competition held in literary events. Students expressed their feelings and expressions through their participation in events including Debate, Elocution, Extempore, Creative Writing, Poetry and Haas-Ras. In the morning session, Gurbhajan Singh Gill, Ex-President Punjabi Sahit Academy, Ludhiana was chief guest.

Nidhi Sharma organizing secretary of festival said that in morning session Debate, Poetry, Extempore, Creative writing competitions were held. In the afternoon session there were competitions of Elocution and Haas-Ras. In all the competitions three colleges of university named College of Veterinary Science, College of Dairy Science and Technology, College of Fisheries, School of Animal Biotechnology, Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani participated alongwith affiliated college Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Amritsar. Students expressed their thoughts on current and important issues.
Topic for Debate was ‘In the opinion of the house the General Elections and Assembly Elections should be held simultaneously at one point of time in India.
The result of this competition was:
1. College of Veterinary Science
2. Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Amritsar
3. College of Dairy Science & Technology
Individual winners of Debate were:
1. In support of topic – Bharti Raj, College of Veterinary Sciences
2. Against the topic - Gurleeen Kaur, Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Amritsar
In the Extempore competition result was:
1. Gurleen Kaur, Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Amritsar
2. Shreyan Talan, College of Dairy Science & Technology
3. Mohneet Kaur, College of Veterinary Science
In the Elocution event The topic was ‘Smog-Who is responsible? Govt. Policy for failure or Farmer's to Blame
In the Poetry competition the topic was: 'Season'
The results was:
1.      Amandeep Kaur, College of Fisheries
2.      Deep Kamal Singh, Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Amritsar
3.      Navjot Singh, College of Dairy Science & Technology
The topic for Creative writing was ‘How do you imagine the world of future or social consciousness
In the Rangoli Making Competition result was:
1.      Rohini Gulhane, College of Dairy Science & Technology
2.      Anmolpreet Kaur, College of Veterinary Science
3.      Supriya Kamboj, College of Fisheries
Dr. Satyavan RamPal, Director Student Welfare congratulated the winner students. He said that Youth Festival will enter in the more colourful and Musical phase as main stage items will be on floor from on November 13th at in open air theatre, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. He said that Dr. AS Nanda, Vice-Chancellor will inaugurate youth festival and Mr. R. N. Dhoke, IPS, Commissioner of Police will be the Guest of Honour.

Dr. N K Sood, President, Dance Drama and Music Club said that on 13 November 2017, there will be competitions of Folk song, Solo Dance (Creative), Light Vocal and Group Songs (Indian & Patriotic) at Open Air Theatre of Punjab Agricultural University.
